Macro-Eco-Evolution of biodiversity changes
What ecological and evolutionary processes shape large-scale biodiversity changes across space and time? What roles of evolutionary histories and environmental changes in driving multiple aspects of biodiversity? I integrate diverse datasets of traits, phylogeny, and environmental layers over geological time to answer these questions. When integrating macroecological and macroevolutionary perspectives, these analyses often unveil the vital roles of evolutionary histories underlying extant vertebrate diversity across space.
Anthropogenic impacts on biodiversity distribution
Human-induced landscape changes significantly contribute to global biodiversity degradation. However, evidence on the multifaceted impacts of these anthropogenic changes remains limited, hindering effective mitigation efforts. To address this gap, I assess landscape modifications—from tropical forests to urban areas worldwide—to identify key drivers of biodiversity change in response to these alterations.
